Our church plant in India is taking o ff and we are so excited to see God at work. In late February, working through our partner, HBI, Pastor Mike had the opportunity to meet our new Campus Pastor – Solomon – and to see the new house that was leased where the church will operate.
The house is located in the IT corridor of Chennai, India – a major area of commerce where a lot of technology companies are located. There are thousands of men and women here, some with very stressful jobs, who don’t know Jesus. HBI and Solomon are starting the church plant with 10 men and women who they have begun discipling. Once they finish this process, each of the 10 will build new teams of 10 more men and women to disciple. Using this approach over time will help build a strong core team, who can eventually move into a larger venue for corporate worship.
The new house will feature a coff ee shop where men and women can come in off the street for coff ee. The new disciples will staff the house and be there for care, conversation and opportunities to engage with the gospel.
